Trossen Robotics, located in Downers Grove, IL, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Materials Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As a leading provider of robotics components and solutions, Trossen Robotics is committed to innovation and excellence in the robotics industry. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations through effective material planning and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Requirement Planning (MRP):

  • Utilize Order Time web-based platform and Excel to generate accurate material forecasts based on production schedules, sales orders, and inventory levels.

  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials to meet production requirements.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels using Access and implement strategies to optimize inventory turns while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Conduct regular inventory analysis using Excel and Power BI, collaborating with stakeholders to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

  • Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers using Google platforms to ensure on-time delivery of quality materials.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and maintain favorable supplier relationships.

Production Support:

  • Work closely with production planners and engineers to support production schedules and resolve material-related issues promptly.

  • Provide input on material availability and lead times for new product introductions and engineering changes.

 

Shipping & Logistics:

  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments

  • Responsible for BOL input

  • Customer support related to order logistics


Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Utilize Power BI for data visualization and analysis to drive supply chain initiatives and support business growth objectives.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience in material planning, supply chain management, or procurement within a manufacturing or robotics industry preferred.

  • Proficiency in Ordertime web-based platform, Access, Excel, Power BI, and Google platforms.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external suppliers.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
